Synopsis

Pé de Feijão (2020) a Portuguese feature film co-directed by Paulo D'Alva and António Pinto follows the moving story of a young man, the son of a miller, who harbors a great dream of becoming a ballet dancer. The plot unfolds from a dual perspective: while the sound of applause heralds the dancer's success, a female spectator looks back on the artist's story, intertwining it with her own life journey. The narrative explores his origins and the arduous path of overcoming obstacles required to achieve his dream. The film stands out for its deeply inclusive and humanistic nature. Produced in partnership with CERCIESTA (Cooperative for the Education and Rehabilitation of Citizens with Special Needs in Estarreja), it features a cast composed entirely of people with disabilities, who bring to life the protagonists of this work about social inclusion and collective artistic potential.
