Sanguêdo en la Baralha
2026 · Cut-out
Synopsis
The short fiction film titled “SANGUÊDO EN LA BARALHA” is the first silent film featuring the Roma community in the history of the genre. It is a *paya*-*gitano* adventure that pays tribute to silent cinema and its superheroes. The film tells the story of Najma and Coron, a Roma couple fighting for their love and striving to avoid falling into the clutches of *Salazarus Burocratus*, the evil imperial emperor. Its creation was driven by an inclusive approach that valued the participation of children and young people—as well as their families—from the Rua Baralha encampment in Sanguêdo, Santa Maria da Feira, Portugal.
